Ten counties in the state's northwest corner
We offer Upstate SC web design and SEO services for businesses that sell across the region rather than to one town: suppliers found by what they can make, and service firms whose trucks cross several counties in a week. We build the website, the capability and service pages, the Business Profile and the links that help a buyer anywhere from Oconee County to Union County find you and ask for a quote. Websites from $400 one time, SEO plans from $65 a month.

Case result: vacation rental business in Charleston, +47% direct bookings (6 months).

The Upstate is ten counties in the state's northwest corner: Abbeville, Anderson, Cherokee, Greenville, Greenwood, Laurens, Oconee, Pickens, Spartanburg and Union. I-85 is its spine, running through Anderson, Greenville and Spartanburg on toward Charlotte, and I-26 climbs from Columbia to Spartanburg. For a supplier, those two roads are the map: a buyer at a plant near Greer and another near Anderson are on the same interstate.
North and west, the ground rises. The state parks service describes SC 11, the Cherokee Foothills National Scenic Highway, as following an ancient Cherokee trail along the edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains, with Table Rock and Caesars Head state parks along the way. Lake Hartwell sits by Anderson and Clemson, and boats reach Laurel Fork Falls on Lake Jocassee from Devils Fork State Park. Marinas, outfitters and cabin rentals around the lakes and in the foothills sell to visitors who plan their trip on a phone.
So "where" means something different across the region. For a supplier it is a corridor, for a lake business a shoreline, and for a foothills outfitter a trailhead. The towns with pages of their own, Spartanburg, Anderson, Clemson and Simpsonville, each have a local market, and our Greenville page is the hub for all of them. A business whose customers are spread across several of those markets plans at the scale of the region instead.
The Census Bureau's American Community Survey (2019-2023, ten Upstate counties) finds manufacturing to be the largest field for the region's working residents, at 18.5%. The Upstate SC Alliance, the regional economic development group, counts more than 2,938 engineering and manufacturing companies here and names BMW, Michelin and GE Vernova among them.
That shapes four different kinds of search.
Engineers and purchasing staff at those plants type the job: "5-axis CNC machining", "powder coating Greer SC", "stainless fabrication near Anderson". Each phrase is rare, and one account can be worth years of work. These buyers read capability pages closely, check certifications and send a drawing.
Region-wide service firms, such as industrial cleaners, commercial roofers, pallet suppliers and trucking companies, get found by service plus a county name or plus "Upstate SC". Their buyers are facility managers comparing two or three vendors.
Lake and foothills visitors search on phones, often the day before or the morning of: "boat rental Lake Hartwell", "cabins near Table Rock", "kayak tour Jocassee". Map results, photos and recent reviews decide.
Households mostly search inside their own town, and a profile with the right service areas plus a page per service reaches them.

Another client, in their words
"Honest pricing and no contracts, which mattered for our small business. They got us ranking locally and our calls picked up within a few months."
Say you run an industrial pump and motor repair shop in Laurens County with customers at plants from Oconee County to Union County. County Seat ($235 a month) fits: 20 keywords, in-depth keyword research, an on-page audit, a content gap analysis and premium indexing.
For a shop like this, a few more quote requests and emergency calls a month is the number to judge by, and it usually takes several months to show. No one can promise a ranking.

Our websites start at $400 one time, and each one is quoted per project. The quote depends on how many pages you need, which forms and features the site carries and how much of the writing we do. A small service business site costs less than a supplier site with a page for every capability. SEO is a separate monthly plan from $65, so you can build the site first and add SEO when it suits you.
It is a rule of thumb rather than a measured standard: within a few seconds of landing, a visitor should know what you do, where you do it and how to reach you. For a fabricator in Laurens County that means the capability and the quote button at the top of the page. For a kayak outfitter near Lake Jocassee, it means the trips, the meeting point and the booking link. Fix the top of the page first.
No. A profile belongs to a real, staffed location, and a service-area business can list up to 20 service areas, enough for the main towns across several counties. Google's guidelines currently say a service-area business should keep one profile for its central location and that an unstaffed virtual office doesn't qualify; check the current version. Use pages on your website, not extra profiles, to show the counties you cover.
Yes, when the pages target what those buyers type. An engineer in another state rarely adds a town name; they search for the process, the material or the certification. That calls for capability pages with real specifications, keyword research on industry terms and links from sites in your field. Tri-County, with 40 keywords, two domains and competitor analysis, is where most suppliers with that goal start.
For a focused business, often yes; for a broad one, sometimes not, and the free evaluation will tell you which you are. County Seat covers 20 keywords, enough for a supplier with a handful of core processes. A firm with many product lines, several brands or more than one website usually needs Tri-County or Whole State, and a few need a custom quote. The plans are fixed, which is what keeps the price down.
